Terms & Conditions
This agreement sets out the terms and conditions that will govern the relationship between us, Amber Lights Performing Arts (ALPA) and you, the Parent/Guardian. It is a legally binding agreement. The conditions listed are important to ensure we maintain consistency and to ensure all members gain the maximum benefit from their membership with us.
By holding a membership with ALPA you agree to the following terms and conditions:
▪ Any free trial (taster session) is strictly at the approval of the Academy Director/Principal, subject to availability and does not guarantee a place at ALPA.
▪ We reserve the right to revert to online sessions, for any enforced closures outside of our control. This includes, but not limited to, national and localised shutdown due to weather, pandemic, venue availability and lockdowns. Where our school(s) are running physical face-to-face sessions or a combination of in-person and virtual sessions, the standard monthly invoice applies and is payable via bank transfer. Where a school is operating virtually for a period of nine or more consecutive weeks a reduced monthly fee will then apply in this instance.
▪ To avoid the disruption of classes, you and your child are requested to arrive in good time. If in the instance that you are late and arrive once classes have started, we will try to accommodate this but ask that you inform the Principal in good time, using the academy phone number provided.
▪ All children enrolled at ALPA are expected to wear their ALPA t-shirt and leggings/jogging bottoms. If your child is yet to receive uniform, we ask that they wear loose and comfortable ALL BLACK clothing for the purposes of health and safety. Further, children are expected to wear appropriate footwear (jazz dance shoes) to prevent any injuries when working physically at the studios.
▪ In the event that your child is unable to attend a scheduled ALPA session, due to sickness (subject to the clause below), holiday, government restrictions or a decision by the Parent or Student not to attend, ALPA is unable to offer any refund of fees paid or make up the missed session.
▪ We will suspend membership during the minimum membership period in the event that a child at ALPA is unable to attend classes for more than one month due to his or her injury or illness. In the unfortunate event that medically it is not possible for a child to attend ALPA classes we will cancel the minimum membership period without any further obligation to you. We may however require suitable medical evidence in the form of a GP or hospital letter setting out the medical reasons for incapacity to return to ALPA.
▪ In the event that you do not pay membership fee payments when due, the right to send a child to attend ALPA will be withdrawn until payment is received and brought up to date. If your account falls into arrears on more than three occasions during any one calendar year, we reserve the right to terminate your membership with immediate effect.
▪ At the end of the membership period, your membership will automatically continue unless either party cancels by giving the other at least one month’s notice.
▪ We may terminate your membership and discontinue the child’s entitlement to attend ALPA in the event of serious or repeated breach of these membership terms.
▪ Payment is due on the first of each month (excluding August where payment is not necessary, due to academy closure for summer holidays). Payment must be made by via Class4Kids. If payment of membership fees is not made in full for any reason, we reserve the right to suspend your membership and to exclude your child from attending ALPA. A £5 per class, per week late fee will apply to any payments not made on time.
▪ This agreement may be terminated if either party is in serious breach of its obligations to the other in line with ALPA’s overarching policies.
▪ We reserve the right to use any individual or group photographs of your child for our marketing channels and promotional purposes in line with ALPA’s Photographic Consent and GDPR Waiver. Should you wish to opt your child out of this we ask that you communicate this to the School Principal.
▪ You and your children are expected to treat all ALPA members, children, staff and volunteers with respect and consideration. ALPA does not tolerate rude, offensive, or aggressive remarks and behaviour in any way.
▪ We reserve the right to make changes to the terms listed.
